4-week Autumn course, Tuesdays 21, 28 September & 5, 12 October – 10am – 1pm

An opportunity to explore the landscape along the Humber Estuary, local reserves and historic clay pits of Barton-on-Humber with a particular eye to the flora growing on location.

Over 4 weeks you will learn how to:

  • Gather and identify plants commonly growing in the locations – work in the landscape – develop drawing and painting techniques – press or dry plants to study and observe and build into mixed media pieces.
  • Use photography to inform your studies – observe inspirational sources including historical approaches and ways of thinking – develop craft techniques such as using wax and simple print and/or stitch techniques – explore combining figuration with abstraction.
