a creative activity for families and small groups
Saturday & Sunday 19 & 20 June and 26 & 27 June – 10.30 – 1pm and 2pm – 4.30 pm – £6 per group
Experience the joy of a summer meadow in full bloom! You will see a riot of wildflowers and grasses native to our local ecology along with the insects and fauna they provide a habitat for.
The team at RSPB Blacktoft Sands are in their fourth year of developing the site from an arable field to traditional meadow, enhancing the wealth of birds, wildlife and plants at the reserve.
Each session will begin with a brief presentation by one of our team and visual artist Linda Ingham, about the history of meadow, and what you might expect to see and find during your meadow stroll. You will be provided with some visual material to help you identify the species you see, and be encouraged be creative too! Bring your notebook, camera, sketchbook – or all the above!* The session will end with an opportunity to show and share your findings, and some of what you present will be shared on social media and in our reserve HQ.
